The Asian Business Management Conference (ABMC) 2013 will be held in the great and exciting city of Osaka, Japan, from November 21-24, 2013 with the theme, “Corporate Governance and Business Sustainability” and is hosted by the International Academic Forum (IAFOR). From our network member Dr. Dale Medearis
The Northern Virginia Regional Commission and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands organized a joint one-day dialogue January 14, 2013 to discuss mutually beneficial and innovative climate adaptation policies. Over 100 scientists, researchers, technical and policy experts, academicians, NGO officials and elected officials (national, state and local level) for the “Climate Adaptation Planning: Local Level Strategies for US Communities” conference. The participants reviewed national and sub-national climate adaptation approaches from the Netherlands, case studies concerning US cities that adopted Dutch climate adaptation policies, and the application of innovative urban sustainability lessons from European regions in Northern Virginia. This work was facilitated by a member of the Alexander von Humboldt foundation Cities and Climate Change Network. UPDATE: The call for papers for the edited book “Mitigating Climate Change:
The Emerging Face of Modern Cities” received wide attention from academics,
city planners, and administrators along with international organisations.
From a number of proposals for chapters submitted, twenty have been
accepted to be included in the edited book by the Editorial Board. Author
(s) have been invited to submit their full papers by August 31, 2012. These
papers will undergo a peer review process and the book is expected to be
published in Fall 2012.
Details regarding this forthcoming book can be found in the attached pdf.
